Andre Balazs and Chelsea Handler
50 Cent who? Chelsea Handler has finally made public her relationship with Andre Balazs by attending the Boom Boom Room in NYC on Saturday with him.
The rumors about the two of them dating started back in late January, but they were never confirmed.
During the weekend though, the hotelier joined 36-year-old Handler at the launch of her fourth book 'Lies That Chelsea Handler Told Me'.
"He's a babe. He's very successful and he's very nice. I think she's met her match. He doesn't put up with her, but in a fun way, which she loves. Chelsea likes when you don't put up with her too much", Heather McDonald said about 54-year-old Balazs.

'Dancing With the Stars' results recap: Unplugged

124221_3869_pre Well, anything is possible. Maybe it was because, as the “DanceCenter” panel pointed out, he had too many cookies and “he’s not working out hard enough.” Oh Romeo, Romeo. Despite that swagger and a confidence that stretched on for days, the multihyphenate talent formerly known as “Lil” and son of Master P was eliminated from the competition during this, Season 12’s eighth week. Just shy of the semifinals, too. And while I can safely say that I never want to hear him shill anything ever again (“He’s plugging to the very end!” exclaimed Tom), I was still sad to see him go.
Remember when Romeo didn’t want to put on heeled shoes? He’s come such a long way, thanks to pro partner Chelsie Hightower, and he should be proud of his efforts. Carrie Ann in particular, seemed shocked that Romeo was the one leaving and not injured Ralph Macchio, who received a good six points less than his fellow bottom-dweller. But at least Romeo was able to leave with strong tango and salsa performances that showed that he can not only talk the talk (and talk and talk), but walk the walk as well. He won’t have to turn down movies for fear of dancing. And his message remained on point. As they said on “DanceCenter,” Romeo (member of the Celine Dion fan club) did it for the kids, for the troops “and for his father’s record company.”

Well, this leaves Ralph Macchio and Karina Smirnoff, Kirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Hines Ward and Kym Johnson and Chelsea Kane and Mark Ballas to duke it out in the semifinals.
Kirstie and Maks got their semifinal notice early, like a reward after their Argentine tango was selected as the encore performance. In the performance recaps, Kym buttered up Hines before his individual dance, saying “Your butt looks cute in those pants” and then requesting that “If we get a Mirrorball trophy, I want a proper ring on my finger.”
124221_4057_pre “DWTS” alums Kenny Mayne and Jerry Rice returned with glittery eye decals and ridiculous ballroom wear for their ever-entertaining “DanceCenter” segment. And while this one seemed shorter than previous seasons (maybe because there weren’t as many contestants to go through this late in the cycle), I still found their version of what Tom called “sequins and sarcasm” a highlight. Particularly when Kenny and Jerry chatted about the Royal Wedding, to which British Len wasn’t invited. “You’re a terrible dancer,” was all hurt Len could muster. “That’s not what Kate’s sister said,” Kenny razzed back. Oh, snap! Loved how Jerry and Len were concerned with Ralph’s hips, and the hits that Hines put on Kym Johnson. Most uncomfortable moment was a tie, both courtesy of an orange mesh-wearing Jerry Rice. First, when he stirred his own sex pot and licked it, in response to Kirstie Alley (age: timeless; shoe: removeable; weight: diminishing) partner Maks’ “sex on stick” rant. And then when he knowingly told the camera that Chelsea (hobbies: hocus pocus and breaking the rules) was “a naughty girl.” Also loved how Jerry said “Put him in a body bag, Johnny” about Ralph “Sweep the Leg” Macchio (oldest kid ever on "DWTS;" likes: bananas and painkillers). But that may be just because I love quotes from “The Karate Kid.”
The inspirational, three-hanky portion of the program shone the spotlight on three brothers — Hefa, Solane and Tu’iniua Tuita — whose lives were saved by dance after their father tragically passed away after complications from a stroke. And their all-out, energetic performance meant that much more after you know how much these boys had gone through. “I’m loving this series,” said Tom. Go, dance!
“DWTS” alum Michael Bolton came back to perform a duet called “I’m Not Ready” with Australian superstar Delta Goodrem, who kind of looked like what would happen if Kristen Wiig, Faith Hill and Audrina Patridge were stirred in a sex pot and merged into one person. Dmitry Chaplin and Anna Trebunskaya accompanied them by making sweet ballroom love on the dance floor. Dmitry had his trademark chest bared, and his satin shirt flapped handsomely, like the cover of a Harlequin romance, and Anna, as always, was a vision. Michael Bolton’s really having a moment, isn’t he? Between this behind the music parody of “I Said I Love You...But I Lied” and his SNL Digital Short “Jack Sparrow,” I think this erstwhile mulleted crooner may be trending.

As PlayStation Network tries to get back online, Sony points to Anonymous

The company has written a letter to Congress saying the data theft came as it was defending itself against cyber-attacks

Investigators found a file implicating the "hacktivist" group Anonymous in the security breach that led to the theft of the personal details of more than 100 million online gamers, electronics company Sony has told the US Congress. In a letter to Congress, Sony said the data theft came at the same time it was defending itself against a cyber-attack from members of Anonymous. Forensic experts found a file on one of the hacked systems, titled Anonymous, which contained a phrase – "We are legion" – that is sometimes used by the hackers' collective, said Sony chairman Kazuo Hirai in the letter to members of the House of Representatives. "What is becoming more and more evident is that Sony has been the victim of a very carefully planned, very professional, highly sophisticated criminal cyber-attack designed to steal personal and credit card information for illegal purposes," he told the House commerce committee, who have launched an inquiry into the matter.

Sony makes first efforts to get PlayStation Network back online, as rumours surface of new attack this weekend

The Sony PlayStation store website went back online this morning, while online gaming services are still undergoing maintenance.

According to Netcraft, yesterday Sony began the final stages of testing the new PlayStation Network and Qriocity services to ensure their security before the services are relaunched.

In a letter to users, Sir Howard Stringer, chairman, chief executive officer and president of Sony, reconfirmed the company's commitment to ‘investigating the entire nature and impact of the cyber attack'. He said: “We are absolutely dedicated to restoring full and safe service as soon as possible and rewarding you for your patience. We will settle for nothing less.”

He said: “Our investigation is ongoing and we are upgrading our security so that if attacks like this happen again, our defences will be even stronger. In the last few months, Sony has faced a terrible earthquake and tsunami in Japan. But now we are facing a very man-made event – a criminal attack on us and on you — and we are working with the FBI and other law enforcement agencies around the world to apprehend those responsible.

The real feel of the Manny Pacquiao-Shane Mosley fever is already happening in the entertainment capital of the world.
The sports books of Las Vegas casinos are one of the tryst points for odds makers making a bet on the boxers.
The current odds for Pacquiao is still at 8-1. This means placing a bet of $800 will win $100.
On the hand, placing a $100 bet on Mosley wins $500, which makes Mosley the underdog.
Souvenir items such as hats, T-shirts, boxing gloves, and other memorabilia sold inside the casinos are among the sold-out items of the Pacquiao-Mosley bout.
Top Rank chief executive officer Bob Arum said Las Vegas expects to make a whopping $300 million in revenues just for this fight.

Manny Pacquiao vs Shane Mosley Preview

I just got home from a short run with my band DOWN, and it kicked ass, so my brain is simmering back to a slow boil, which is normal. I happened to catch an episode of Fightcamp 360 on ‘SHOWTIME Extreme’ the night we got home, featuring, of course- the run-up to Manny Pacquiao’s defense of the WBO welterweight title vs. 38-year old “Sugar” Shane Mosley.
As I watched both guys doing their thing in camp, it occurred to me out of the blue: ‘I don’t really give a shit about this fight… AND it still worries me”…
Why?
Because in my mind, and from the way both guys were shown preparing, Shane has no chance.
And it saddens me. I am a fan of both guys, but Shane is risking his health. That can be said of all boxers going into battle, but the fact that an old Shane is going in against Manny at his peak is a scary thing.

Pollsters: Debate Makes Herman Cain Overnight 'Star'

Pollsters: Debate Makes Herman Cain Overnight 'Star'

Atlanta talk-show host and businessman  Herman Cain stole the show in the GOP debate in Greenville, S.C., Thursday, and may have vaulted himself into the front tier of Republican candidates according to several pundits and observers.

“If you want the real headline today it would say, ‘A star is born,’” Matt Towery, the conservative syndicated columnist and CEO of the nonpartisan InsiderAdvantage polling firm, told Newsmax Friday.

Cain, he said, could be the come-from-behind candidate this season, like others have done in the past,  including former President Jimmy Carter, a relative unknown who won his party’s nomination anyway.

Towery’s evaluation seemed to mirror that of Fox News contributor and pollster Frank Luntz, who said a focus group’s reaction to Cain’s articulation of conservative principles was “unprecedented.”

Only one of the 29-member focus group initially was a Cain supporter. By evening’s end, however, the former CEO of Godfather’s Pizza, who also served as chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, had won an overwhelming majority among those on Luntz’s focus group.

“I have never had this kind of reaction until tonight,” said Luntz. “Something very special happened this evening.”

University of Virginia Center for Politics Director Dr. Larry J. Sabato cautioned, however, that focus groups aren’t representative of the larger electorate.

“Cain’s performance was fine, but most of the others did reasonably well, too,” Sabato tells Newsmax. “A debate cannot change the fundamentals. Most of the people on that stage were exotic, boutique candidates. Their chances of being elected president are almost nil.”

Other Republicans competing in the Fox News debate telecast were former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum, Libertarian-leaning Rep. Ron Paul, and former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson.

Each candidate had his moments during the debate. Pawlenty was generally credited with coming across as the most polished on stage. Paul roused the crowd with libertarian positions on the prohibition of drugs and U.S. military interventions abroad.

But some in the crowd expressed disappointment that none of the so-called “first tier” of GOP candidates – including former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, Rep. Michele Bachmann, and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin -– participated in Thursday’s debate.

“Herman Cain's success points out the weakness of the field that showed up in Greenville, SC,” Democratic pollster Doug Schoen told Newsmax. “He offered no-nonsense, straight talk. But no candidate offered a clear narrative on the economy, as Sen. Jim DeMint correctly said the Republicans need to do.”

Cain spoke repeatedly during the debate about the importance of a strong energy policy and job creation. His high point came in response to a question about his lack of governing experience.

“I’m proud I haven’t held public office before,” he said. “Most [of the candidates], they have held public office before. How’s that working out for you?” he asked to applause.

The mainstream media took notice of Cain as well. CBS News called his performance “the big surprise of the night.”

Rasmussen Reports President Scott Rasmussen said it’s too early to say whether the debate can make Cain a major player in the fight for the 2012 nomination, saying the debate was “like the first game of spring training in the baseball season.” But he said there is a “very good chance” this year’s nominee will not come from the current presumed frontrunners.

“Four years ago at this time, nobody knew who Mike Huckabee was … he was not a national name. He came from nowhere, did very well in the Iowa State Fair, surprised all the pundits with his performance in the straw poll there, and obviously went on not only to do well in the Iowa caucus, but to get more delegates than anyone but John McCain,” Rasmussen said.

Cain, a Georgia businessman and talk-show host, earned a Master’s Degree while serving in the U.S. Navy. In addition to his stint at Godfather’s Pizza, which went from bankruptcy to profitability during his time at the helm, Cain also served as chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City.

In addition to answering questions about his lack of governing experience, Cain will also have to reassure primary voters that he can effectively master foreign policy questions. He appeared to stumble Thursday when asked to articulate his policy on the war in Afghanistan, for example, stating he would need to study the matter further.

Towery said that the performances of both Cain and Pawlenty vaulted them into the front tier of GOP candidates for 2012. While conceding Cain lacks experience on how government works, he added GOP primary voters are looking for a candidate who will downsize government, rather than one who can manage its growth.

“I think Herman Cain does do a little bit of what Ronald Reagan did, and that is, he captures the hearts of the Republican conservatives very early on which Reagan did when he challenged Gerald Ford,” Towery said.

He also said the decision by most of the major Republican candidates to stay out of the South Carolina debate was “a really stupid move.”

“You saw a group of younger, fresher faces emerge and really win the heart of the S.C. Republican Party,” Towery said. “I don’t know how those bigger candidates are going to get that back.”

Dialed In listed as Derby favorite

Dialed In listed as Derby favorite

LOUISVILLE, Ky. | No one can say with any real certainty whether or not Uncle Mo will be in the starting gate on Saturday when the Kentucky Derby is run for the 137th time at Churchill Downs. He’s still battling a gastrointestinal infection that could result in a scratch right up until post time.
But even if he does run, there is a good chance he won’t be the favorite. For now, that honor goes to Dialed In, the horse Churchill Downs handicapper Mike Battaglia picked as the 4-1 morning line favorite on Wednesday after the Nick Zito-trained colt drew the favorable eighth stall in the Derby post position draw.
The No. 8 position has been a good place to start the race in recent years. Barbaro (2006) and Mine That Bird (2008) both won the Derby from that position.
Uncle Mo, who was undefeated as 2-year-old and looked like the most talented horse in his age group before a third place finish at the Wood Memorial, was named the early second choice at 9-2 after he drew the No. 18 post position. Nehro was Battaglia’s third choice at 6-1 in what is being called one of the toughest Derbys to handicap in years.

Dialed In, who won the Florida Derby last month by a nose, didn’t get nearly the attention Uncle Mo did during the prep season, but Dialed In might be peaking at just the right time for Zito and owner Robert LaPenta. Zito has won the Derby twice.
“It could have gone either way with Dialed in or Uncle Mo,” Zito said. “He could have been 4-1 and we could have been 9-2. I’m very flattered by it, I guess. But anything Dialed In does, he deserves it.”
The biggest question, however, remains the status of Uncle Mo, the horse trained by last year’s Kentucky Derby winner Todd Pletcher. Uncle Mo made only a brief appearance at the track on Wednesday, and his owner Mike Repole repeated his belief that the horse has about a “50/50 chance” of running Saturday.
