MANASSAS, Va. - The Civil Air Patrol, Prince William Composite Squadron in collaboration with Chick Fil-A on Signal Hill in Manassas, held a fundraiser benefiting Wreaths Across America Nov. 13. Patrons visiting Chick-Fil-A between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. were given the opportunity to sponsor wreaths of their choice at over 410 state, national, and local cemeteries across the country.
The Prince William Composite Squadron has also volunteered to participate in Wreaths Across America this year and will lay wreaths on fallen heroes’ graves at Arlington Cemetery on Dec. 11 at 12 p.m.
Ceremonial wreaths will be placed to remember those who served, to honor their sacrifices, and teach our younger generations about the high cost of freedom. Specially designated wreaths for the Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Merchant Marine, and POW/MIAs will be placed on memorials during the ceremony that will be coordinated simultaneously at over 400 participating locations all across the country.
The non-profit Wreaths Across America organization allows supporters the opportunity to sponsor a wreath. Their goal is to one day see every veteran’s grave in the country adorned with a wreath to honor them during the holidays.
Individual wreath sponsorships are $15 each. Proceeds from the sponsorships place a wreath at one of the participating cemeteries, and will help support the activities of the Prince William Composite Squadron in Manassas.
If you would like to sponsor a wreath or would like more information, visit wreathsacrossamerica.org and include group ID VA CAP102 in support of the squadron.
